SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS

Each year since 1956 the Neshaminy Valley Music Theatre has produced a full Broadway-type musical stage show. The proceeds of the production contribute to a scholarship fund which is awarded to graduating seniors of the Neshaminy School District who plan to continue their studies in the fine or performing arts.

EVELYN MCLEAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Chris Simcox

Chris’ vocational goals include performing professionally so that he may help others grow, learn and become better humans through theatre and art. While applying for college admission he was granted 17 auditions at various universities that have specialized programs in theatre finally deciding to major in Musical Theatre at NYU Tisch University. He was involved with every NHS musical and drama show throughout high school as well as numerous non-scholastic productions including off-Broadway in New York City. He was a member of the youth chorus in NVMT’s production of The Music Man. He joins his mother who as a Neshaminy graduate also was awarded a NVMT scholarship.

JOSEPH J. MCGLADE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Marlene Moore

Marlene attends West Chester University majoring in secondary English education with a theatre minor. Her vocational goal, however, is to be a drama teacher hopefully within the Neshaminy School District. She would like to be able to impact the lives of children and to use the stage to help build the confidence young people need to be the best versions of themselves. During high school, Marlene participated in Marching Band serving as president, Wind Ensemble, Indoor Percussion, Symphony Orchestra, Concert Choir, Women’s Choir, NHS Summer Stock, Drama Department, Tri-M Music Honors Society serving as Secretary, NHS Musical Theatre and was a member of the National Honors Society.
